چکیده
The present study explored the effects of alanine (Ala), citrulline (Cit), proline (Pro) and their combination (Ala10Pro4Cit1) on the activities of caspases and levels of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and cytochrome c in hydroxyl radicals (•OH)-induced carp erythrocytes. The data displayed that •OH induced the increases in the activities of caspase-3, caspase-8 and caspase-9 and the levels of ROS and cytochrome c in carp erythrocytes. However, Ala, Cit, Pro and Ala10Pro4Cit1 effectively suppressed the •OH-induced increases in the activities of caspase-3, caspase-8 and caspase-9 and the levels of ROS and cytochrome c in carp erythrocytes. Furthermore, the activities of caspase-3, caspase-8 and caspase-9 and the levels of ROS and cytochrome c were gradually decreased with increasing concentrations of Ala, Cit, Pro and Ala10Pro4Cit1 (0.175-1.400 mM) in the •OH-induced carp erythrocytes. These data demonstrated that the 50% inhibitory doses (ID50) of Ala10Pro4Cit1 on the activities of caspase-8, caspase-9 and caspase-3 and levels of ROS and cytochrome c were respectively estimated to be the minimum values among amino acids examined so far. The 5% inhibitory doses (ID5) of Ala, Cit, Pro and Ala10Pro4Cit1 on the activities of caspase-8, caspase-9 and caspase-3 and levels of ROS and cytochrome c were estimated to be at their physiological concentrations in mammalian. Our research article for further interpretation and discussion from these data in Li et al. (2016) [1].

Interaction of polyamine and proline on the activity of enzymatic and non-enzymatic compounds in the peel of three Citrus species under low temperature stress
Plants activate antioxidant defense mechanisms under stress, which help maintaining the structural integrity of cell components and possibly reduces oxidative damage. Low temperature stress leads to the production of reactive oxygen species and oxidative damage to plants. In this study, the effect of putrescine and proline on reducing the production of reactive oxygen species and increasing th...
متن کاملVitamin C and Chitosan Alleviate Toxic Effects of Paraquat on Some Biochemical Parameters in Hepatocytes of Common Carp
Background: Paraquat is nonselective bipyridyl herbicide that induces hepatotoxicity through oxidative stress. Vitamin C and chitosan have antioxidant as well as radical scavenger properties and show protective effects against reactive oxygen species (ROS). In the present study, hepatoprotective effects of chitosan and vitamin C were evaluated in common carp exposed to paraquat. Methods: Whi...
متن کاملReactive oxygen species mediate TNF-α-induced inflammatory response in bone marrow mesenchymal cells
Objective(s): It is generally believed that the inflammatory response in bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs) transplantation leads to poor survival and unsatisfactory effects, and is mainly mediated by cytokines, including interleukin-1β (IL-1β), tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α). In this study, we explored the mechanisms underlying the TNF-α-induced inflammatory ...
متن کاملRole of Caspases and Reactive Oxygen Species in Rose Bengal-Induced Toxicity in Melanoma Cells
Objective We have previously shown that Rose Bengal (RB) alone, not as a photosensitiser, could induce apoptotic- and non-apoptotic cell death in different melanoma cell lines. To clarify RB-induced toxicity mechanisms, role of caspases and reactive oxygen specious (ROS) were studied in melanoma cells. Material and Methods Human melanoma cell lines, Me 4405 and Sk-Mel-28 were cultured in DM...
متن کاملIdentification of Intracellular Sources Responsible for Endogenous Reactive Oxygen Species Formation
The endogenous reactive oxygen species ("ROS") formation is associated with many pathologic states such as inflammatory diseases, neurodegenerative diseases, brain and heart ischemic injuries, cancer, and aging. The purpose of this study was to investigate the endogenous sources for "ROS" formation in intact isolated rat hepatocytes, in particular, peroxisomal oxidases, monoamine oxidase, xanth...
